the prompt: to INTEGRATe
Hungary is famous for its rich and diverse culture that integrates the celebrating and joyful folk art and traditions with its long classical history, giving birth to many great artists in architecture, music, and so on. I realized how much in common there is with the celebrative Olympics spirit, so integrating their cultures became the primary focus.
Target Audience
The branding focused on engaging a global audience of sports fans, travelers, and cultural enthusiasts, while also resonating deeply with the local Hungarian community. The visual identity speaks to international viewers seeking a unique, immersive Olympic experience that goes beyond athletics — one that celebrates place, history, and cultural pride. At the same time, it honors Hungarian heritage through folk-inspired patterns and storytelling, making locals feel seen and represented on the world stage.
design concept
The branding system incorporates folk-inspired floral elements woven into various design components, from event posters to environmental signage. The pictograms use fluid, organic shapes that reflect traditional Hungarian decorative art while maintaining clarity and functionality for wayfinding. The signage system features warm, earthy tones and tactile visuals with a branded arrow shape. The social media campaign embraces a mix of digital collage and graphic storytelling, reinforcing Budapest’s cultural identity while engaging audiences worldwide.
Budapest Olympics
This project envisions the branding for a mock Budapest 2036 Olympics and creates a unique and culturally immersive Olympic identity that celebrates Hungary’s artistic legacy while maintaining the excitement and universality of the Games. The visual identity integrates traditional Hungarian motifs with contemporary sports branding, ensuring a fresh and engaging visual system that connects with a global audience.
