Housing Savannah’s target audience includes residents in need of affordable housing, local volunteers, community leaders, policy advocates, and potential donors within the Savannah area and beyond. Many are socially conscious individuals or organizations looking to support tangible change in their community. The audience ranges from young adults newly entering the housing market to older residents seeking secure and stable living conditions.

our approach to rebrand

The rebrand of Housing Savannah to Housing United was rooted in the idea of visual unity, warmth, and cultural resonance. The branding team drew inspiration from traditional American quilts, which became a powerful metaphor for community, care, and the patchwork nature of housing equity — where many different stories, needs, and efforts come together to create a cohesive whole.

the impact

Our deliverables included a new name and visual identity inspired by quilt patterns to represent unity, a redesigned website with improved clarity and accessibility, a social media campaign that boosted engagement by 290%, and thematic content celebrating Black History Month and Women’s History Month, and even a documentary that includes our interviews with locals that were affected by housing difficulties. Lastly, we concluded our success in a motion video that documented the full journey.

Housing Savannah X SCADServe is a two-quarter course offered at my school I joined, with a student-led initiative to rebrand a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing accessible housing solutions here in Savannah. We worked directly with the organization, ultimately renaming it Housing United to better reflect its mission of uniting communities through housing advocacy, funding, and education. The class was divided into branding, marketing, and web teams to tackle the project holistically. I primarily worked as a member on the marketing team, where we developed and executed a comprehensive social media strategy and eventually boosted their social media engagement by 290% increase in likes and 20% increase in followers.
